PSYCHOTEX is proud to announce the first ever 45 from the
premier 1980's Cowtown punk band, the Playthings. The songs, THE CHURCH
OF GOD (the utterly indifferent) and I CAN'T FACE IT, were recorded in
1981 in Fort Worth, Texas. The original master tape laid rotting away in
a box for the past 15 years until being mixed down for this special
documentary project. From 1980-1984 the Playthings (Kevin E. White on
screeching guitar & vocals, Bryan "Lizard" Massey on kick-ass drums and
Rick "Luggy" Franklin on throbbing bass) played all the usual
Dallas-Fort Worth haunts: ZERO'S, the HOT KLUB, Charlie's TWILITE ROOM
etc. But the dumb bastards were too busy drinking, drugging and making
noise to ever get a record done. This 45 now remedies that sad state of
affairs. This 45 is pressed on clear vinyl with a striking yellow and
red label. The music is loud, fast and hard. Anyone interested in the
state of early 80's Texas punk music should not be without this seminal
historic document.
